An attempt at free-verse poetry

I wish I knew some things;
some simple, some complex.
Perhaps things would’ve been easier
and I wouldn’t be so lost.

I wish I knew where I’d end up.
Each decision’s ripple effect.
Trekking an efficient path.
Deciphering the perfect culmination.

I wish I knew triumph
Well-deserved opulence
Marvelled at, and praised,
but ultimately inspiring.

I wish I knew that was impossible
The nonexistence of perfection.
The importance of the journey,
as a shooting star cannot be caught.

I wish I knew that earlier
Perhaps things would’ve been easier
Knowing every downfall would be
the catalyst for my victories.

I wish I knew.

I write sometimes (mostly about mental health, self love and personal development, but I might sprinkle in some pop culture reviews).
